The volunteer program at the South Florida SPCA Horse Rescue emphasizes safety and education, where volunteers learn about horse safe handling, anatomy, body condition scores, and how to identify horses by color and characteristics. During lunch, we have discussions about nutrition, medical conditions, history, and current events in the equine industry. As a volunteer, my duties include helping manage the overall cleaning of stalls, feed bins, and water dispensers, while also assisting with grooming and leading of horses.
