Baited Remote Underwater Video Internship

Southern Puffer, Sphoeroides nephelus.

Hardhead Catfish, Ariopsis felis.

Blue Crab, Callinectes sapidus.
During my internship at the FIU Tropical Fish Ecology Lab,
I collaborated with processing the video data of the project: "Effects of the 36-Year Closure & Opening of Joe Bay on Fishes & Recreational Fisheries". This project employed a non-invasive sampling technique called Baited Remote Underwater Video (BRUV) to determine the relative abundance and foraging behavior of the fishes on Joe Bay. As an intern, my duties included watching a subset of the videos and recording species identification and noteworthy observations while submitting a report that summarized the results of the processed videos.

Bull Shark, Carcharhinus leucas.
