Marine Field Ecology

During my Marine Field Ecology course, I participated in a group-based field experiment carried out on Sandspur Island in Biscayne Bay. I investigated ecological factors affecting invertebrate abundance by conducting visual abundance surveys. I examined affecting factors using YSI, HOBOs, snorkels, transects, and gopro equipment. Using the R Studio program, I was able to summarize and interpret the collected data. Based on my findings, I concluded that invertebrate abundance, at this location, is affected by temperature, water turbidity, and tide stage. At the end of the term, I submitted a detailed report and presented my research project in class.
